  2. HardBall 5 1996 Schedule patch                           July 26, 1996

  5. This patch will alter older HardBall 5 installations that contain the
  6. 1995 Major League Baseball 144-game strike schedule, and update the
  7. game so that it will instead contain the 1996 Major League Baseball
  8. 162-game schedule.

  11. How to install the patch
  12. ------------------------
  13. (1) Download the file HB5_162G.EXE file into the HardBall 5 directory
  14.     on your hard drive (the default is C:\HB5).
  15.  
  16. (2) If you are currently running HardBall 5 from Windows 95, select
  17.     Exit to DOS from the Main Menu before continuing.
  18.  
  19. (3) Go to a DOS prompt.
  20.  
  21. (4) From the DOS prompt, type the following:
  22.  
  23.         C: [Enter]
  24.         CD\HB5 [Enter]
  25.         HB5_162G [Enter]
  26.         PATCH [Enter]
  27.  
  28. If the patch program reported that the patch installation was
  29. successful, HardBall 5 should now be patched to use the 1996 Major
  30. League Baseball 162-game schedule.
  31.  
  32. Please note that this patch will not affect any seasons currently in
  33. progress.  To have your current league file use the 1996 162-game
  34. season, you will need to reset it.  From the League Standings screen:
  35.  
  36. (1) Select Reset Season.
  37.  
  38. (2) Select Ok.
  39.  
  40. (3) Select Start Season.
  41.  
  42. (4) Select Complete Schedule.

  44. The date at the top of the screen should now read April 1st, 1996
  45. instead of April 25th, 1995.

  48. Notes about this patch
  49. ----------------------
  50. >>> This patch should work for any version of HardBall 5, from 5.00 to
  51.     5.12.
  52.  
  53. >>> This patch only affects the MLBPA leagues, not the Legends leagues.
  54.  
  55. >>> This patch only affects the Complete Schedule.  The Half Schedule
  56.     and Short Schedule are not changed.
  57.  
  58. >>> Installing this patch does not modify the HardBall 5 distribution
  59.     media (the CD).  Therefore, if you re-install HardBall 5, you will
  60.     need to re-install this patch again afterwards.
  61.  
  62. >>> Should you decide you would rather have the 144-game schedule back,
  63.     you will have to re-install HardBall 5 from the CD, and any other
  64.     patches you may have installed.

  67. Other patches
  68. -------------
  69. At the time of this writing, there is a version 5.12 patch for HardBall
  70. 5 which fixes a number of bugs in the program, and adds numerous
  71. enhancements over version 5.00.  You can determine the revision you
  72. have by selecting Setup from the HardBall 5 Main Menu.  You will see
  73. your HardBall 5 version number near the top of of the Setup window.
